I’ve always really enjoyed the names of some groups of creatures, but two of my favorites are an unkindness of ravens and a murder of crows.
This story wasn’t written with that in mind – in fact, it originally went by the title of “Outside My Window” – but when I went through to clean it up, I realized I’d snuck in a lot of bird imagery. Given the topic, it was easy to switch the title.
It’s also one of my favorites, and even before my recent uplifted mood was something I could look at and be reasonably happy with writing.
